Eye Sea

This summer, Marin residents have the opportunity to glimpse the future of the county’s shorelines. OWLs are the standing coin operated binoculars you know from boardwalks the world over, but with a twist — these viewfinders depict the scenery as it will appear decades down the line, should sea levels continue to rise at projected rates. “OWLs show a few different sea-level scenarios and present ideas for community response,” says Aaron Selverston, founder and CEO of Owlized, the company that produces the devices. Ride, walk or jog on down the Sausalito–Mill Valley pathway to gaze through one of two OWLs available for use through the month. owlized.com
