First of all PokeCon! A food truck extravaganza in San Francisco at SoMa StrEat Food Park - 428 11th Street July 23 and 24.

From the sponsors: “We’ll be celebrating all things Poke with some of the best Poke vendors from all over the Bay Area serving what they do best plus Lau Lau, Dole Whips, Hawaiian drink specials, live music, and more!”

  • $5 tickets available
  • Live music all weekend!

  • 808 Poke Shack
  • Hula Truck
  • Pacific Catch
  • Poke Time
  • Trader Jim’s
  • Fresh Catch Poke
  • Samy’s Aloha
  • Noelani’s
  • Jeepney Guy
  • Joonya’s Lau Lau
  • Da Poke Man

Next, Jack Wolford one of our most prolific photographers with deep Hawaiian roots just told us about the I Love Poke, festival and competition.

From the sponsors: San Francisco’s first annual I Love Poke festival & chef competition to make its debut at Pacific Catch 9th Avenue, July 24th from 4-7 p.m. to celebrate Hawaiian culture and cuisine. Special guest Pa’ina Café of Oahu, the originators of the “poke bowl,” are flying out from Hawaii in celebration of their 1 millionth poke bowl served. They will be making and sharing poke, and will also be the official judges of the mini poke bowl contest.

Ticket price is $85 and includes two cocktails/beverages, all you can eat mini poke bowls created by seven competing chefs (including Chef David Gingrass of Pacific Catch, The Myriad’s Poke Delish and Santa Cruz plate lunch favorite Pono Hawaiian Grill), as well as additional Hawaiian/Asian inspired food items including “The Minotaur” a Korean BBQ Kimchi Cheese Melt created by San Diego’s Supernatural Sandwiches.

Get tickets here:  https://onoyum.webconnex.com/ILPSF16TIX.

Please be aware that events may occasionally be cancelled or postponed by the promoter. We always suggest you contact the promoter or venue to confirm for a particular day.
