Sausalito Full Moon Blossom Festival

Having just come from Washington DC where the cherry blossoms were in glorious bloom all along the Potomac, I am not sure that Sausalito can boast such a spectacular floral display, but the Third Annual Full Moon Blossom Festival, Saturday, May 16, does promise to be a colorful and festive event.

A benefit for Sausalito’s sister city student exchange program with Sakaide, Japan, the event is an opportunity to immerse oneself in Japanese culture with a traditional sake barrel breaking ceremony, martial arts, Taiko and Tsuzumi drumming, not to mention sushi appetizers and an exquisite Japanese buffet dinner hosted by the legendary Sushi Ran in Sausalito. The party is from 5:30- 9:30 p.m. at Campbell Hall and Gardens, 70 Santa Rosa Avenue, Sausalito (across from the Episcopal church). Cost is $125 per person (all inclusive – sake, wine bar, reception, dinner and entertainment). Festive Japanese attire is suggested, so pull out that kimono you never wear.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at brownpapertickets.com/event/1388573. Parking is limited so guests are encouraged to use the complimentary shuttle operating from the top of Spencer Avenue starting at 5:15 p.m. For more information call 415.412.7336.
