Sausalito Art Festival Main Stage Music Rocks This Weekend

As always, the Sausalito Art Festival will offer continuous live music from two stages for all three days of the event. The main stage headline performers this Labor Day Weekend include Tower of Power, Tommy Castro, Jackie Greene and Taj Mahal – all a blast from the past, but one that still gets the crowd groovin’ and movin’. Local favorites like Pride & Joy and the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Lavay Smith and her Red Hot Skillet Lickers will also be featured main stage. The “Artists Stage” is a smaller, more mellow venue offering stellar musical talent as well, ranging from classical to Dixieland, swing and jazz.

When you consider the price of admission to the festival is only $25 ($20 for seniors 62+) it’s a bargain –– live music all day, 260 artists, all along the scenic Sausalito waterfront. My recommended game plan? Go to the Stella Artois beer garden for a trendy micro-brew like Speak Easy Prohibition Ale or grab a glass of Rombauer Chardonnay or Domaine Chandon champagne and settle in at one of the music stages. Work up an appetite wandering around the festival grounds and then grab a tasty bite from one of the many festival food booths –– shrimp ceviche, Pt. Reyes oysters, pulled pork sliders or Greek gyros are just a few of the offerings –– and head back to the music stage for more tunes.

For a complete entertainment schedule go to the festival website. You won’t be disappointed. It’s a Boomer and Gen X music fest. Just watch everyone sing along while they sway in the sun!
