Circus Bella Summer Circus

Clowns and circuses have gotten a pretty bad rap in recent times, but if you’re asking us, the new hamburglar is creepier than any clown out there. That said, there is such a thing as a cool circus – one free of mistreated animals and rides of questionable safety – and it is Circus Bella. Circus Bella is a full-force, non-stop 60-minute kaleidoscope of thrilling feats of balance and strength, elegance demonstrations of grace and poise and outrageous humor of slapstick antics. The circus showcases static trapeze, rope walking, a 9-person juggling act, contortion, hula-hoop, original clowning and more. The music is originally composed and directed by the highly acclaimed Rob Reich and draws from French Waltz, New Orleans Jazz, Klezmer and American Circus March. Their mission is to create a one-ring circus that uplifts diverse audiences, engages community, and challenges its artists, which is hard to hate on. Trying to give circuses an image makeover is no easy feat, so come check out their efforts to bring a homegrown circus back into the ring this weekend to see what they’re all about.
