The Hunchback of Notre Dame

The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Marin Magazine

Featuring bell-studded gypsy costumes and an enthralling chorus, the Bay Area Musical's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" deftly combines Academy Award-nominated scores from the Disney film and story elements from Victor Hugo's original Gothic novel to produce a fun and yet heart-rending portrayal of desire, religion, and heroism wrought from love.

In fifteenth-century Paris, a hunchback taken in by the corrupt Minister of Justice finds his lifelong beliefs of the church and himself torn asunder upon meeting the beautiful and persecuted Esmeralda. The tale comes to life through Matthew McCoy’s clever stage direction and the diverse cast’s impressive operatic vocals, particularly by the leads Alex Rodriguez (as “Quasimodo”) and Alysia Beltran (as “Esmeralda”).

The show runs from July 7 to August 5, 2018, at San Francisco’s Victoria Theatre (2961 16th Street San Francisco, CA 94102).

Regular tickets range from $20 – $65 and can be purchased online at www.bamsf.org/hunchback
