Farm to Table Dinner

“Farm to table” is arguably the most hackneyed term of the past few years –– although “atelier” has been shaping up as pretty fierce competition for that title. In spite of the flagrant and erroneous use, however, real farm to table meals exist, and it doesn’t get much more legitimate than the dinner taking place this weekend. Saturday evening, the White Barn Project will be hosting a benefit for Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center at its magical Beaumont Farms where everything is sourced from within a five mile radius. Both organizations have admirable missions, too. Giant Steps helps children and adults with disabilities through therapeutic horseback riding and other equine-assisted activities, while the White Barn Project serves as a sanctuary for animals (including donkeys, alpacas and horses) that are used for experiential therapy.

The dinner will be catered by Stellar Catering and is set to include fresh oysters, fine wines, pasture-raised protein from over the hill and many other local flavors. You can take a look at the menu here. There will also be a silent and live auction and music by Sebastian Link. Oh and prospective San Francisco attendees, don’t be discouraged by the distance: transportation is available to and from the City.

If You Go:

When: Saturday, June 11 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: Beaumont Farms 5580 Red Hill Road Petaluma, CA

Cost: $175
