10th Annual Maker Faire

2006 was an enterprising year for business in the Bay Area. Twitter and SolarCity both got started, Marin Magazine went monthly after being in business for less than a year, and ye olde Maker Faire was born. The Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. Uh huh. And all of these “makers” gather to show what they’ve made and to share what they’ve learned.

Since the inaugural event, the faire has gained another flagship location in New York and occurred around the world in places like Tokyo, Rome and Oslo.

Come out, get hands-on, and explore the offerings! The Maker Faire is a venue for makers to show examples of their work and interact with others about it.

If You Go:

When: May 16 & 17 at 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Tickets: $20 - 80

Where: San Mateo County Event Center 1346 Saratoga Drive San Mateo, CA 94403
