Carnaval San Francisco

Are you looking for something beyond barbeques and mattress sales this weekend? Well, you can retire that search because it’s time for Carnaval. The massive two-day, eight block event celebrating Latin American and Caribbean cultures in the Mission is taking place this Saturday and Sunday and the anticipated list of entertainment is sure to keep you electrified all throughout. In past years the standard fare has included a Lowrider Art Car Show, Latin American music, plenty of dancing, a block party with DJs and a special party for children. In addition to all of that there is bound to be many art showings, performances on every corner, as well as the Grand Parade that starts at 9:30am on Sunday morning. Now in its fourth decade of celebration, Carnaval San Francisco has been an opportunity for many cultures to come together in one spirit to share their creative expression. Come celebrate this Memorial Day weekend in San Francisco’s Mission District and see the very best Latin American and Caribbean cultural arts and traditions. Carnaval San Francisco is the largest multicultural celebration on the West Coast.
