Marine Mammal Center Sunday

Join the free ocean-inspired classroom series for kids and adults from education experts. The center offers programs, docent-led tours plus numerous exhibits and public viewing areas. This month Thanksgiving is celebrated by highlighting the amazing feeding and hunting strategies of marine mammals. Find out about how orcas have learned together to wash seals off the ice in Antarctica, humpback whales use bubbles to trap fish and otters use tools to crack open their favorite foods. Free Classroom Programs are an hour long and take place at 12 p.m. and 2p.m.

Docent-led tours include a small fee but are a great opportunity to learn facts about seals and sea lions from our education experts while seeing exhibits and patient viewing areas. This Sunday Adam Ratner, Guest Experience Manager and Animal Care Volunteer at The Marine Mammal Center, will be leading an interactive presentation on the amazing feeding abilities of marine mammals, featuring dolphins, otters and whales. Sessions are held in the Center's classroom at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. and are a great complement to the docent-led tour!

Docent-led tours include a small fee but are a great opportunity to learn facts about seals and sea lions from our education experts while seeing exhibits and patient viewing areas. Docent-led tours take place at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 a.m., and 3:00 p.m.
