MALT Day at the Pumpkin Patch

The Marin Agricultural Land Trust (MALT) is hosting a fun-filled family day of picking organic pumpkins, making your own cheese and crafts and enjoying locally produced food and beverages.

New activities this year include The Milk Makers, where families can learn how cows’ milk is made into dairy products. Clo the Cow, Clover Organic Farm’s ambassador, will be there from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Also families can make farm crafts using fall fruits and vegetables as ink stamps. There will be a petting zoo and an organic caramel apple-dipping stand.

Enjoy food from Farmer’s Wife, offering Nicasio Valley Cheese grilled cheese sandwiches and meat from Fallon Hills Ranch (both MALT-protected ranches) and Thistle Meats grilling up Stemple Creek Ranch burgers, also a MALT-protected ranch. In addition, there will be a watering hole for thirsty adults including Lagunitas IPA, Equator coffee, Nana Mae’s Organics apple juice and Tomales Hard Cider from AppleGarden Farm.

MALT has worked with more than 70 farming families to preserve more than 46,000 acres in Marin.
