Tiburon Launches a New Art Walk

The Tiburon Chamber of Commerce is launching a new Tiburon Art Walk tomorrow night -- Thursday, October 16, from 6-8 p.m.  The work of 23 artists will be showcased at 33 different venues – shops, restaurants and other businesses. There will also be an outdoor sculpture exhibition along Shoreline Park and Blackie’s Pasture. It’s a free, fun, self-guided tour (maps and a full list of participating artists are available from all participating merchants or at tiburonchamber.org).

Most of the artists will be on-location at the launch party to meet and greet and many of the venues will be serving wine and appetizers, even offering live music. If you can’t make it tomorrow night however, not to worry. The art will be on display for a full month and much of it is staged in storefront windows so it can be appreciated any time of the day.

Participating artists include well-known local favorites such as Debra Maddox, Cara Brown, and John Bucklin as well as newer names from throughout the Bay Area.

The very picturesque (no pun intended) and “progressive” art walk (like a progressive dinner party) is a delightful community-art project and great opportunity to re-visit downtown Tiburon if you haven’t been there for a while.  There are new shops (Madison and Fetish), new restaurants (Luna Blu), all your old favorites --or mine at least (Sam’s and Koze)… and now, even more art.
