Second Fridays Art Walk San Rafael

Anyone who’s ever been to an art walk will sing its praises. Not only to you get to check out cool (often local) art, there’s generally live music, pop-up restaurants or food trucks, plus you also get to go out with friends and meet new people, and wine. Lots of wine that’s often free. Even if it wasn’t for all those aforementioned features, the highlights of this Friday’s are not to be missed. Art Works Downtown will be showcasing their Phases exhibit which is a contemplation on the various passages of time featuring a survey of recent work by Raylene Gorum. Underground Gallery will be having a reception, as well. Beyond the Bloom Awareness Art Exhibit by Flowering Hope is a culmination of voices from survivors, supporters, advocates, family members and the public. The exhibit seeks to bring awareness to the issue of gender-based violence while providing a venue for over 200 voices. Aside from Underground and Art Works Downtown there’s at least 10 other galleries and businesses participating in the event ensuring something for everyone –– better than ordering food at home in the very least. Don’t forget about the wine.
