Tricia is a wildlife artist that paints based on experiences she has had with her subject matter. Though her subjects are painted in acrylic using a more realistic manner, her backgrounds are quite contemporary and urban.
She focuses a great deal on visual texture through trowel and plaster work, playing with the reflection of light through the use of metallics as well. The reflective quality sets itself apart from the more uniform subject creating a visually stimulating work of art.
She works primarily on wood birch panels as this allows her to really explore the materials in a greater manner.
Each painting represents a snap shot into Tricia's life, her connections with the animals, birds being her primary subject is quite intimate and individualized. She shares her sacred space with that of the subject creating a sense of harmony, shared experiences, and an connection between the viewer and the subject.
It is as if each painting speaks to the viewer sharing information through their eyes and emotion. Tricia many times resonates with a particular feeling or word when she paints a piece in efforts to have that piece resonate with a similar sense of energy.
Tricia loves to share her methods and techniques and offers classes both privately and in a more open setting. Her studio acts as a gallery of her work as well as the creation station!
She enjoys to hear what you the viewer think of the work and how it touches your spirit!
Be sure to say a special hello to Shakira the studio kitty, who loves a little attention as well!
