Extra Hands for ALS
Student volunteers are needed to provide basic services to ALS patients, like yard work, housecleaning, opening and reading mail, using the computer or providing companionship.  Contact Linda Allen, 908.208.3674, extrahands.org

Halleck Creek 4-H Riding Club
This Nicasio club brings together disabled children and adults, retired riding and work horses with volunteers for a fun-filled day of horseback riding. Contact Molly Scannell, 415.662.2488, halleckcreekranch.org

Marin Conservation Corps
A charter school academic mentor is needed to educate members of the Marin Conservation Corps as they attempt to gain proficiency in English and obtain their high school diploma. Contact 415.454.4554, marincc.org

Marin Headlands Visitor Center
The visitor center is seeking a volunteer to provide information about the area and assist in the day-to-day operation of the center. Contact Terry Kreidler, 415.561.4755, nps.gov

Marin Literacy Program
The program provides Marin County adults with free, student-centered instruction in reading, writing and speaking, to help them reach their full potential at work, at home and in the community. Volunteers are needed for tutoring at various sites throughout the county and in the jail and state prison. Contact Susan Charlton, 415.485.3318, marinliteracy.org

Marin Municipal Water District
Help protect the Foothill Yellow-Legged Frog by volunteering to help educate the public about this federally listed species of special concern. There are also many other volunteer opportunities from building bridges to restoring habitat, available to match your skills, interests and time commitment. Rancho Elementary School
Volunteers are needed to help with the Novato school’s annual PTA fundraiser June 10 at the Marin Civic Center Exhibit Hall in San Rafael. Volunteers will assist in the silent and live auctions and with data entry. Contact Cathe Anderson, 415.884.0239, ranchoschool.org

San Francisco Paramedics
The pre-hospital trauma life support class needs volunteers to role-play the victim of a traumatic injury for five hours in June at the Bay Model Visitor Center. The group needs someone who’s willing to wear fake blood and makeup and lie on a stretcher for certain scenarios. Contact Theresa Farina, 415.543.1162, sfparamedics.org

This nonprofit performing arts organization is seeking a volunteer to help with general administrative tasks, and computer skills are required. The Marine Mammal Center

Trips for Kids
The San Rafael group is seeking volunteers that can teach environmental education in a fun, exciting way to kids on mountain bike rides and at the group’s after-school earn-a-bike program.
