Uncorked Wine Festival will hold its 12th annual celebration at Ghirardelli Square this Saturday. The event will feature dozens of local wineries, a craft beer sampling from SF Brewing Company in the West Plaza, and an array of cuisine options. Wineries pouring are set to include BackRoad Vines Wine, Ballentine Vineyards, Bluxome Street Winery, Ceja Vineyards and De Novo among others. Craft beer tastings will feature 10 Barrel Brewing, Deschutes Brewery Hop Slice Session IPA, Elysian Brewing Company Space Dust IPA, Firestone Walker Brewing Company Leo v. Ursus, Golden Road Brewing Tart Mango Cart, Goose Island Four Star Pilsner, Stone Brewing India Pale Ale and more. A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Stride for Life Colon Cancer Foundation, an organization focused on the prevention and early detection of colon cancer. This mission is accomplished through a variety of educational programs directed at increasing the awareness of colon cancer among both healthcare providers and the general population. Included are public education, screening and risk-reduction programs directed toward populations at high risk. The Strides for Life organization is funded entirely through contributions from individuals, corporations, and grants from public and private agencies.
