As it has since 1957, the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival once again took over Old Mill Park on Sept. 14 and 15, bringing with it 135 juried artists representing more than a dozen artistic categories: ceramics, painting, pastels, photography, glass, jewelry, fiber & paper, sculpture, woodworking, printmaking, mixed media, jewelry — all exhibiting the fruits of their amazing talents.
While local and national musicians entertained event-goers from the park’s famous redwood grove stage, storytellers and magicians fascinated children of all ages in the Children’s Grove.
Like many festivals, sponsors are an integral part of their survival. Mill Valley Art Festival would like to thank its sponsors, partners and art community participants, including Marin Magazine, Bay Area Digital Solutions, Good Earth Natural Foods, Bank of Marin, Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce, Bellam Self Storage, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Marin Dad, Assembly, Marin Independent Journal, KQED, MarinArts and more.
Missed the festival? It’s not too late to snag a custom printed phone case, yoga mat, coffee mug or other giftable items from the online festival store at mvfaf.org.

A freelance writer in Marin who writes about family, kids and parenting, Glass is the mother to one son, one dog and a hamster named Miss Geri. When she’s not writing, trekking up steep hills in Marin or driving her kid to sports practice, she and her family spend time in their tiny cabin in Lake Tahoe. She avidly supports the California Academy of Sciences, a world class science museum and research institution, and the Institute on Aging which provides much needed services to Bay Area seniors and disabled adults. Glass is obsessed with baking the perfect loaf of banana bread, something she makes so often she no longer needs to look at a recipe card.
