Over 300 partygoers gathered on August 9 for the sold-out event of the summer: Marin Magazine’s annual Best of the County Party. They had much to be thrilled about: apparently Marin is not just a beautiful place to live, it’s also a great place to dine, shop, play, learn, give back and be wholly entertained — as evidenced by the 820 businesses who made our Best of the County list in a total of 104 categories within Arts and Entertainment, Beauty, Dining, Fitness, Home & Design, Philanthropy, Services and Shopping. Wow!
A Rooftop with a View
The party was a rooftop affair surrounded by lovely views of San Francisco Bay and Sausalito Harbor. Guests broke out their warm weather attire and enjoyed the summer-perfect temperatures, while 38 North Design Co. created a party-perfect atmosphere.
A Summer Evening to Remember
As guests vibed to the eclectic mix of tunes spun by DJ West Coast Good Times, they noshed on international cuisine by Stacy Scott Catering including poke bowls and antipasti, and enjoyed signature cocktails made with specialty gin and vodka from Alamere Spirits, rum from Batiste Rhum, a variety of wines from J Vineyards & Winery and Orin Swift and vodka libations from Local Motion. Guests also satisfied their sweet tooth with tastes of Angela’s Organic Ice Cream, which recently opened its first Marin outpost in Mill Valley.
Swoon-Worthy Raffle Prizes
Several lucky guests won the evening’s extravagant prizes, including a set of brilliant stud earrings from Cast Jewelry, a day of wellness treatments and assessments at Jyzen medical spa, a party consultation from 38 North Design, tastings at J Vineyards and Orin Swift and a monthlong membership with personal training sessions at Club Evexia.
Attendees were showered with several surprises: luxurious, ahhh-inducing wellness treatments in the Jyzen Labs medical spa room; Golden State Spritzes paired with California Caviar in the Local Getaways Lounge, home to our partner travel publication (where they got a first look at the brand new Best of the County app); and special tarot card readings.
Guests who wanted to show off their looks for the party took photos in SnapFiesta’s Glambot booth (find all the videos here). All partygoers departed with a gift bag in hand, chock full of goodies from a variety of local businesses.
Marin Magazine Represents!
Marin Magazine‘s staffers were in attendance, including 270 Media publisher Nikki C. Wood and editorial director Mimi Towle, who co-led the event. Part of the event’s proceeds will be donated to the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank.
We Couldn’t Have Done It Without Our Sponsors and Partners
There was no shortage of fun to be found at this fete, thanks to the magazine’s sponsors who stepped up to make it memorable: Local Motion, J Vineyards and Winery, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Orin Swift Cellars and Winery, Kunst Painting, Batiste Rhum, Jyzen, as did our partners: Porsche Marin, California Caviar Company, 38 North Design Co, West Coast Good Times, Snap Fiesta, Prismic Photography, Stacy Scott Catering, The Documattarian, Alamere Spirits and Angelas Organic Ice Cream.
