What: The Commandery of St. Francis (OSJ) raises funds for programs providing rehabilitation services for injured veterans in the Bay Area.
About the event:
Now in its tenth year, the Wounded Veterans Polo Benefit 2019 continued to deliver its signature brand of thrilling high goal polo, fine dining, delectable wines, and an assortment of entertainment — all with the noble mission to better the lives of America’s veterans. 350 guests turned out donning their best suits and summer gowns and festive seasonal hats to mingle and enjoy two exciting polo games.
The fun didn’t stop during intermissions, either. Spectators were treated to a halftime performance by the California Rodeo Cowgirls and got to participate in the Chandon “Divot Stomp.” Other highlights were the annual Ladies Hat Contest and of course the wine tasting, featuring some of the Bay Area’s most popular wineries including Trione Vineyards, Valiance Winery, St. Francis Winery and others. But best of all, all the fun amounted in $50,000 in proceeds that was raised towards assisting veterans’ programs in the Bay Area.
