The Mill Valley Film Festival is off to an incredible start with some even calling it the best year yet! And with great film comes great music as MVFF Music returns for it’s second year. Featuring a diverse series of concerts at the Sweetwater Music Hall, these two artists taking the stage this weekend are not to be missed.
It may be impossible to classify Alejandro Escovedo in just one genre of music but we can tell you this Texan born, So Cal local has music in his DNA. Alejandro’s family includes legendary percussionist Pete Escovedo, and niece Sheila E – world famous drummer. After a multi-decade solo career, Escovedo has joined forces to create the Alejandro Escovedo Trio. Expect guitar forward roots rock with emotional depths and sing-along choruses.

Local music legend and 3 time Grammy and Emmy winner Narada Michael Walden curates a spirit-moving, hand-clapping performance with The Great Gospel Show. Walden has produced hits for Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Whitney Houston so make sure to grab you dancing shoes for this soulful performance.
