Dipsea Hike for Zero Breast Cancer

Courtesy of Zero Breat Cancer

We have all heard that Breast Cancer rates in Marin are the highest in the U.S. — we explored the myth and fact of that claim in a story last October. Whether or not the claim rings true, Breast Cancer is a disease that effects many women around the world, and a cure is a cause worth fighting for (or hiking for!). Take part in the annual Dipsea Hike for Zero Breast Cancer this weekend and fundraise while enjoying an always-lovely jaunt over the mountain. The six-mile loop begins and ends at the Dipsea steps, and reminds participants and donors of the importance of an active lifestyle as a means to prevent all types of cancer. Post-hike, head to Old Mill Park for prizes, a raffle, food and music, with all proceeds benefitting Zero Breast Cancer’s efforts. Not interested in a hike? Donate, or volunteer to help with event-day tasks.
