The annual (and always fun) Fairfax Festival is back for its 37th year. The event features a pre-festival history night — June 13 from 6–9 p.m. at the Women’s Club — a parade, a full lineup live music spanning three stages, arts and crafts, games and activities at the Contratti Park Ball Field, a flea market and EcoFest.
EcoFest runs alongside the main festival, and showcases organic goods and services. The celebration of all things green began in 2004 in an effort to promote environmental awareness in a relaxed setting. An organic wine and beer tasting featuring more than 100 wines takes place both Saturday and Sunday from 1–6 p.m., and a two-day pass includes a commemorative glass, open tasting, a food voucher, other organic samples and permission to come and go.
If you’re looking for a unique way to enjoy the weather or simply find yourself in the area, be sure to swing by this festival. One rule to keep in mind: no dogs allowed.
