Holiday Celebration at Marin Country Mart Farmers’ Market

Are you getting sick all the Facebook invites to pop-up holiday boutiques yet? Ever since Thanksgiving my “events” tab has been inundated with them, and I don’t know about you, but the rainy weather has brought with it seasonal bloat and the last thing I want while I work on my DIY light puffer jacket (read: layer of blubber for winter) is my friends pressing their holiday wares on me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for independent makers and personalized gifts, but is no place safe from a sales push? The major retailers are doing a fine a job bombarding me; really, they are. Luckily, it seems there is a place.

The holiday celebration at Marin Country Mart this Saturday has plenty of non-commercial activities scheduled for people of all ages. From holiday cookie decorating, to old fashioned apple juice pressing –– even a writing and sending a letter to Santa workshop –– there is ample amount of things to engage in for the three hours event. On the traditional side you can take complimentary photos with Santa, and to satisfy green-crafting needs, reuse holiday kid’s crafts with SCRAP. Plus, there will be plenty of holiday treats and beverages to help you with your DIY jacket project.
