Local Spring Wild Mushrooms Identification Course

Everyone loves a treasure hunt and even though your days of searching for Easter eggs are numbered, fret not, there are other opportunities. What kind, you ask? Well, local mushroom hunting! Join Kevin Sadlier this weekend for an information-packed course that covers basic identification of seasonal culinary fungi. Sadlier is on the Council of the Mycological Society of San Francisco and has been combing forests for mushrooms for more than 20 years, so you’re in safe hands with him.

The focus of the class will be on chanterelles, agarics, black trumpets, morels, and hedgehogs (the fungi, not the cute, spiky guy). Feel free to bring mushrooms you want identified and come with an appetite –– there will be samples!

Learn how to store, prepare, locate and forage from the man who provides mushrooms to Molina, Quince, and other top restaurants in the area. Hope to see you there!
