Anyone who’s ever been to an art walk will sing its praises. Not only to you get to check out cool (often local) art, there’s generally live music, pop-up restaurants or food trucks, plus you also get to go out with friends and meet new people, and wine. Lots of wine that’s often free. Even if it wasn’t for all those aforementioned features, the highlights of this Friday’s are not to be missed. Art Works Downtown will be holding a reception for its Storytelling exhibit that looks at the rich history in the Bay Area of art this is essentially — as the name implies — storytelling. Underground Gallery will also be holding a reception for …the eye of the beholder…by Rosario Sapienza. As a trained artist in several media since adolescence, Sapienza applies his “eye” to be on the lookout for beauty reflected in the opportunity for composition, lighting, and subject interest, in photographing what he sees as “beauty.”Aside from Underground and Art Works Downtown there’s at least 10 other galleries and businesses participating in the event ensuring something for everyone –– better than ordering food at home in the very least. Don’t forget about the wine.
