Having an Irish grandfather and a sister born on St. Patrick's Day has always made March 17th a day for celebration for me. The holiday brings nostalgic memories of my grandfather in the kitchen, cooking a traditional Irish meal of corned beef and cabbage for over twenty people. There was never a dull moment, as often the night included several cases of Guinness. For those who have never officially recognized St. Paddy’s Day, why not start now?
Grab your green and head to the biggest Saint Patrick’s Day celebration on the west coast at the 176th annual parade and festival. The parade will start at Second and Market Street and end at the Civic Center Plaza where the festival will be held. Look forward to music, food and a great time!
