The First-Ever Mill Valley Pride Features a Month of Events

For the first year ever, Mill Valley hosts its own series of Pride celebrations during June, LGBTQ+ Pride Month. Don your best rainbow and get ready for a party (or seven)!

Saturday, June 1 Queer Trail Run

Join the San Francisco Running Company for this on-foot kickoff to Pride Month. The day starts at 8 a.m., and runners begin at the store’s location on Shoreline Highway before proceeding on any one of three trail distances.

Saturday, June 1 PRIDE Mill Valley Kick-Off Party!

For anybody skipping the trail run above, show up fashionably late to Lytton Square for the rainbow flag raising. Then, live music, a fashion show and family-friendly activities follow at Depot Plaza.

Sunday, June 2 Teen Author Talk: Out of Left Field with Jonah Newman

Author and Mill Valley native Jonah Newan talks about his book Out of Left Field, a graphic novel about a teen coming of age and coming out in the world of high school baseball. This event will be hybrid, with a Zoom option in addition to the in-person discussion taking place at the Mill Valley Library.

Friday, June 7 PRIDE Movie Night at the Center

The Mill Valley Community Center hosts a free, family-friendly movie night with a screening of Strange World. This science-fiction film follows the Crade family on an adventure, and it’s recognized as the first Disney movie to feature an openly LGBTQ character.

Friday, June 7 Queer Chorus of SF Performance

To give you an idea of how fun this concert will be: the choral program ranges from Handel to Björk. Celebrate Pride Month at this free concert, with an even freer wine reception for pre-registered guests, at the beautiful Mill Valley Public Library.

Sunday, June 23 Daytime Pride Party Celebration

Vintage Ruse, a vintage store and community gathering space, hosts a daytime party with music, kids arts and crafts, snacks and a mini bounce house.

Friday, June 28 PRIDE Movie Night at the Center

Another movie night at the Community Center, this evening’s schedule promises a screening of Crush, a 2022 film about a teen girl coming to terms with a surprising crush.
