Whale of a Tale by Stanford Expert

Have you ever wondered why a whale has such a huge mouth – yet all they consume are tiny zooplankton and fish? Stanford whale expert Jeremy Goldbogen of the Hopkins Marine Station answers that question – and delves into the fascinating science behind the Rorqual whale anatomy. The program is sponsored by American Cetacean Society, San Francisco Bay Area Chapter.

We thought it was a great time to learn more about whales, as this is the peak whale migration season in the Bay Area, according to the National Park Service. Over 15,000 whales are now migrating past the Golden Gate Bridge on their 10,000-mile journey south. Take time to learn more about this majestic creature.
