Where to Watch the Academy Awards

Have you binge-watched all the Academy Award-nominated films yet?  If not, you only have a couple more days to see them all prior to the 87th Annual Academy Awards this Sunday, February 22. 

We have rounded up three local parties at which you may don your finest attire and join in the excitement of the evening. The Christopher B. Smith Rafael Theater, The Lark Theater and Copita Restaurant are all hosting special Academy Awards events to celebrate the best Hollywood has to offer:

Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center, 1118 Fourth Street in San Rafael

Start time: 3:30. Live HD Telecast at 5:00 p.m.

Guest Host: Michael Pritchard

Food: Hors d’oeuvres, gourmet dinner and desserts

Drink: Francis Ford Coppola Wines, beer from Lagunitas Brewing Co.

Event: Raffle and silent auction to benefit CFI Education

Cost: CFI Members – $55.00. Non-Members – $75.00

The Lark Theater, 549 Magnolia Avenue in Larkspur

Start time: Red Carpet Opening at 4:00 p.m. Telecast at 5:00 p.m.

Guest Emcee: Mark Pitta

Food: Hors d’oeuvres by The Left Bank and gourmet box dinners by Farm House Local with desserts from local bakeries. 

Drink: Wine and champagne served.

Events: Costume and door prizes.  Silent auction to benefit the Lark Theater.

Dress: Glamour and Glitz. Come as your favorite actor or movie character. Group costumes encouraged.

Event: National Margarita Day falls on this day. Margarita tasting-flight offered. Also celebrate best picture and its director nomination for Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu – the first Mexican national to be nominated for best director.
