What are you doing this Sunday? Heading to the 33rd Annual Mill Valley Market Wine, Beer and Gourmet Food Tasting, that’s what. 60 wineries, 10 craft breweries and more than 30 food purveyors will converge on the Depot Plaza from 1–4 p.m. with the simple and respectable aim of satiating your palate — and for a good cause, no less. “The Mill Valley Market, since 1981, has hosted one of the Bay Area’s premiere food and wine events, with the goal of benefitting local organizations that are the backbone of the community,” says Jim Welte, Director of Membership and Community Engagement for the Mill Valley Chamber. “This year, they've brought on Kiddo! the nonprofit Mill Valley Schools Community Foundation as a co-beneficiary with the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce.”
Some new and noteworthy offerings include olive oils from Della Terra, gluten-free sweets from Carrot Top Treats, Mamie’s Pies’ pocket-sized pies, cheesy dips furnished by Nibbi’s Kitchen, bags of Silk Road Tea, nutritious power bars made by Slow Food for Fast Lives and crisp, hard cider from Devoto Orchard. Trust us on these; we sampled them ourselves.
Enjoy a post-party stroll home if you live in the area, or take advantage of free valet bike parking provided by the Marin County Bicycle Coalition and sponsored by Tam Bikes. And yes, kids are welcome — Urban Sitter will be hosting a KidZone full of arts, crafts and entertainment.
See you there, tasting glass in hand!
