The America's Cup continues to make waves, this time helping to introduce the first outdoor concert venue on San Francisco's waterfront. Live Nation is partnering with Cup organizers to develop the 9,000 seat venue, which will host a number of ticketed and non-ticketed activities throughout the summer.   First on the bill? The America's Cup Concert Series, featuring Multi-Grammy winner Sting, who will take the stage on June 2.

The temporary venue will be housed on Piers 27/29, serving as the cornerstone of the public race village during the America's Cup racing. While only Sting has been announced to date, Cup organizers plan to host a wide range of events on the stage, including live music, comedy shows and family-friendly activities in addition to live commentary on the Cup racing.

Event activity will coincide with the America's Cup racing, which begins with the Louis Vuitton Cup (the America's Cup Challenger Series) this July and continues throughout the summer until the finals in September, where the winning Challenger faces off against hometown defender, ORACLE TEAM USA.

Tickets for the Sting concert will go on sale on Friday, February 22 at 10 AM through Ticketmaster.
