Congrats
Way to represent: Two Marin students — eighth-grader Anjali Bodony of Fairfax (left) and fifth-grader Caroline Miskovsky of Larkspur (right) — both from San Domenico School in San Anselmo, were flown to Chong Qing, China, last May for cultural exchange and touring and to learn about the country’s energy savings and emission reduction programs. Why are they so lucky? It wasn’t luck at all but rather collaboration on a creative project: They entered and won the Low Carbon Living Writing Contest, sponsored by the city of Chong Qing. Check out Anjali’s video at marinmagazine.com/anjali.

Calling All Bocce Ball Players
The Marin Bocce Federation has expanded its facility. It now has 10 courts including two inside courts that accommodate the European version of the game. And for the breaks, players can enjoy the 3,000-square-foot rose garden complete with a gazebo. The entire facility is also available to rent for fundraisers, corporate outings and family gatherings. marinbocce.org

Under the Big Top
Forget summer camp — 12-year-old Mo Pinney of Mill Valley went off to join the circus. Pinney, who started taking gymnastics classes at the age of 2, will spend July and August with the Vermont-based Circus Smirkus Big Top Tour, juggling and flipping her way through New England. While on the job, Mo will be doing everything from selling popcorn to working with light technicians and the music crew.
