On September 27, 240 animal advocates gathered under the stars for Marin Humane’s annual Tails by Twilight gala on their Novato campus. Plenty of furry friends were also in attendance — guests were allowed to bring their own dogs, and could potentially even bring a new family member home thanks to the adoptable puppies and kittens present at the event.

“We were thrilled to welcome animal lovers from all over the Bay Area to this year’s Tails by Twilight! The generosity of animal lovers never ceases to amaze us and we’re deeply grateful for the community’s support,” says CEO of Marin Humane Nancy McKenney.

The gala was lively with guests both eager to support Marin Humane’s ongoing philanthropy efforts and enjoy the live entertainment at hand. Sylvia Gomez emceed, and the Corte Madera Town Band played live music while guests sipped on signature cocktails. Fundraising activities included a silent auction, live auction hosted by auctioneer John Curley, raffle and Fund-A-Need paddle raise — the night ultimately raised $600,000 for Marin Humane.

Plant-based meals served by Sage Catering and donations from Thirty-Seven Wines, Drake’s Brewing Co., Tito’s Vodka, Rescue Dog Wines and Equator Coffees fueled the night’s spirited atmosphere.

A few important figures at Marin Humane also shared a few words of inspiration. Board Chair Nancy Baird and CEO McKenney both spoke about the vision for Marin Humane and the need for support. Shiny Caldwell, Director of Animal Services, spoke about how her team serves the community in three critical capacities: animal-related calls; disaster and emergency response; and investigations into cruelty and neglect.

Marin Humane would also like to thank their sponsors: Brayton Purcell LLP; Thirty-Seven Wines; iHeart Radio; Pet Food Express; Township Building Services; VCA; Hill’s; Aggie Animal Dental Center; Pet Emergency & Specialty Center of Marin; Marin County Federal Credit Union; MetLife; Doran & Associates; Bon Air Pet Hospital; Pasha; Marin Sanitary Service; Moscone Emblidge & Rubens; Bank of Marin; and San Marin Animal Hospital.
