The past two years have had an immense effect on how we all live our lives. For so many, it will be seen as the time that ignited change and pushed us to grow. Despite the continuous challenges, Lifehouse has been a remarkable example of hope and resilience. The nonprofit has not wavered in meeting the demands of our community, making sure individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are cared for and get the opportunity to live a full life.

Lifehouse has been the premier agency for creative and quality support services in the Bay Area for almost 70 years. The organization employs over 500 essential support professionals, ensuring that more than 370 individuals with I/DD are accepted and have a place in our community. The critical need for the nonprofit’s services has become more important than ever, as are the funds needed to provide these vital services.

After two years of virtual experiences, Lifehouse will be hosting its annual fundraising event, Great Chefs and Wineries, at Peacock Gap in San Rafael on April 23.Rock and roll legend Huey Lewis will be returning for the 32nd year as honorary chair, along with Heidi Krahling as the brilliant culinary host. Marin Magazine is honored to be the official magazine sponsor!

The evening begins on the terrace, with a feast of culinary delights expertly prepared by some of the Bay Area’s most outstanding chefs, accompanied by wine from some of the most elite wineries in Napa and Sonoma. The night will progress into the open-air dining room where guests can enjoy dessert along with fabulous entertainment, including a performance by the people Lifehouse supports and a “lifestyle & entertainment” live auction, followed by an intimate concert with musical guest Jefferson Starship!

In addition to the in-person event this April, the Great Chefs and Wineries Virtual Auction will run April 14-22. The virtual auction will include an extensive selection of fine wines, unique local dining experiences, a beautiful collection of art, a sparkle raffle with an incredible diamond pendant necklace from Stephan-Hill Jewelers, and gift certificates and baskets from local businesses.

You can register for tickets to the in-person event or explore and start bidding on items in the virtual auction at www.gcw2022.givesmart.com. Your support will celebrate the importance of compassionate support, acceptance and diversity in our community!
