On October 11, 210 guests gathered at Meadow Club in Fairfax to celebrate St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marin’s 2025 Pennies from Heaven gala. This year’s event marked St. Vincent’s 79th anniversary.
A Warm Welcome and A Tasty Menu
Guests were welcomed by Chief Philanthropy Officer Kathleen Woodcock, before Board President Richard Gallagher also shared a few words. Gallagher then welcomed Chief Program Officer Meredith Parnell onstage to speak on St. Vincent de Paul’s mission, accomplishments and programs.
Bites and drinks were provided by: The Meadow Club; Hog Island Oysters; the Caviar Company; Sausalito Liquor Co.; Copper Six; Croix Estate; The Duckhorn Portfolio; Emeritus Vineyards; Lynmar Estate Winery; McKenzie-Mueller Winery; Peter Paul Wines; Rockpile Vineyards; Franklin Son Pere; and Henhouse.
Fundraising Fun
Pennies from Heaven raised a total of $681,000, thanks to the generosity of their donors and the evening’s festivities, which included a silent auction, a live auction hosted by auctioneer Greg Quiroga and a Fund-a-Need. Grand Slam Mobile DJs kept spirits high with dancing and karaoke, and attendees also mingled at the gala’s lounges, including ones hosted by Telford’s Pipe & Cigar and Sausalito Liquor Co.
“We are most grateful to our benefactors and the community at large for their unwavering support of St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marin and our programs feeding the hungry and housing the homeless,” Woodcock said.
