Rhoda Goldman Plaza Serves the Independently Minded at Its Jewel of an Assisted Living & Memory Caring Community

Rhonda Goldman

At Rhoda Goldman Plaza, we’ve been building an esteemed example of a caring, compassionate and intimate concierge-style community — one with light-filled apartments, amazing food and plentiful amenities. The superlative location is neatly tucked into the Lower Pacific Heights neighborhood, which is bordered by medical service facilities, cafes, shopping, boutiques and restaurants. Rhoda Goldman Plaza is directly across from Hamilton Park and the Western Addition Library, with easy access to the Presidio and downtown San Francisco. And with an impressive walking score of 96, it’s easy for residents to access what they need, what they want and what they like.

A day in the life

Founded on Jewish principles and not-for-profit values, Rhoda Goldman Plaza provides a home for those from all denominations, ethnicities and lifestyles. In this vibrant environment, residents and family members thrive. And with a nearly 1:1 staff-to-resident ratio, our staff really gets to know you.

The promise of “living well with assistance” enhances your independence. Residents are often seen enjoying an espresso in the cafe, taking in a film at the nearby Sundance Cinemas, attending on-site lectures by prominent art historians or discussing the day’s news long after dessert has been cleared.

There are four distinct floor plans, ranging from studios to two-bedroom apartments (with over 58 different floor plan options), a few with patios and views of the downtown skyline. Each apartment includes weekly housekeeping and linen service, ample closet space, kitchenettes, individually controlled heat and an emergency alert system. Overall, the property boasts 118 assisted-living apartments and 35 intimate memory-care apartments on The Terrace: a specialized environment that balances privacy, community and enrichment. A 30-day respite stay in the larger community provides a fully furnished apartment, three daily prepared meals and access to all Plaza amenities to either “try out” the community or to recover from a surgery or other illness.

Comfort is on the menu, too. The plaza kitchen creates delicious, kosher-style meals using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. Everyone can expect their childhood comfort foods (such as meatloaf or gefilte fish) as well as some offerings they have likely never seen or eaten before. Diners may even have to be coaxed into trying some dishes, but they’ll often find them to be better than expected. It’s not about educating residents; it’s about providing an adventure and a new experience.

‘Living well with assistance’

The Rhoda Goldman Promise of “living well with assistance” means staying fit and well cared-for. Here, residents enjoy hair and nail services, wellness and exercise programs as well as massage, acupuncture and reflexology offerings, to name a few.

With a lively, social and dynamic culture, conversations among friends and family constantly spring to life in the dining room, cafe and around the fireplace in the well-appointed living room. Art and music classes, organized games and other events fill out a daily schedule teeming with opportunities to learn, engage and socialize.

Whether Mom, Dad or a loved one needs assisted living or simply a respite stay, everyone who lives or works at this beautiful community is considered a part of the Rhoda Goldman Plaza family. Guests are consistently impressed with the quality of life and echo our shared sentiment and belief that at Rhoda Goldman Plaza “here, you’re like family.”
