ECHO Chamber Orchestra: A Celebration of New Music

SAN ANSELMO — ECHO Chamber Orchestra brings its mission of innovative programming to the fore at 7:30 PM on November 17 in San Anselmo’s First Presbyterian Church as part of California Festival: A Celebration of New Music.
The festival is organized by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Diego Symphony and San Francisco Symhony, and will present some of the most innovative and compelling music from around the world between November 3-19 in venues throughout the state. ECHO is one of 100 contributing organizations.
In a joint statement, CAFest Music Directors Gustavo Dudamel, Rafael Payare and Esa-Pekka Salonen said:
“California is an inexhaustible wellspring of creativity, openness and collaboration. We are so proud to be joined by more than 90 partner organizations located in every region of the state for the inaugural California Festival; their participation turns our celebration into a true statewide effort that reflects the full spectrum of ideas, voices and cultures that call California their home.”
The ECHO Chamber Orchestra concert will include six works, four of them written within the last five years. Music Director Daniel Canosa will conduct. Guest artists will include the MANA Saxophone Quartet, Berkeley Choro Ensemble and trumpeter Doug Morton.
