ForWords Literacy Lab student showcase of poetry, video, art and music examining a day, week and pandemic year in the lives of these first generation youth. ForWords provides in-school and community literacy programs for youth facing significant economic, language and academic challenges.
ForWords students are first generation youth who want to learn, lead, and gain the skills to go to college, secure meaningful work and become active members of our community and democracy. They are motivated, intelligent and hopeful. What has the last year been like for them? Through their lens you’ll get to experience a day, week, and even a pandemic year, in their lives. You’ll see their poetry, videos, artwork, music, and compelling issue discussions. Don’t miss this inspiring event as we gather to sow new seeds of hope for Marin’s youth who need it the most.
