Inner Impulses

Desta Gallery is pleased to announce, Inner Impulses, a two-person exhibition of works by Carolyn Meyer and Patrick Lee, on view from May 24 to July 2. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, May 28, from 4 pm to 6 pm.

Carolyn Meyer’s striking impasto cityscape paintings exemplify the dance between light, texture, and color and capture the essence of the cities she paints. Her work unveils a unique balance between representation and abstraction.

Patrick Lee draws heavily on his intuition and imagination to develop an image, often altering the drawing, color, and spatial relationships to create a mood and express feeling about the subject. His work often results in strong elements of abstraction and suggestion rather than explicit detail.
