MILAGROS & MEMORIES: CELEBRATION OF DIA DE LOS MUERTOS

Many Mexicans believe that the spirits of the dead return to enjoy a visit with their relatives and friends on The Day of the Dead. This Mexican holiday has its roots in the ancient Aztec custom where families welcome back the souls of their deceased friends and Family for a reunion that includes food, drink, and celebration. A blend of Mesoamerican ritual, European religion and Spanish culture, the holiday is celebrated each year from late October to November 2.
