LIFESTYLE FEATURE / CALENDAR LISTING OPPORTUNITY!
For the week of October 8 – 15, 2023

WHAT: Local celebrity guitarist Danny Click introduces DC Guitars with a free, public launch party and concert featuring the DC1, his custom-made electric, solid body, vintage-inspired (with modern accents and electronics) played for the very first time ever by a “who’s who” roster of the area’s leading guitarists (TBA).

WHEN: Sunday, October 15, 2023; 4 – 6:30pm

WHERE: Gazebo at Menke Park (at Corte Madera and Tamalpais Avenue, in Corte Madera); free parking lot on Montecito Drive, First Street, and other nearby streets.

WHY: If you’re a fan of live music, you’ve no doubt heard of Danny Click. After 40 years playing guitars, writing chart-topping tunes, and playing thousands of shows, the public has a rare opportunity to see, hear and learn about his craft from a new perspective—as his vocation as music maker evolves into custom guitar craftsman.

WHO: Originally from Indiana, Danny Click is a longtime San Rafael resident (via Austin, Texas) who has been named “one of the best Alt-Country artists of the century” by No Depression Magazine and is well-known in the Bay Area for his 700+ live shows over the past decade at Sweetwater, Mount Tam Jam, Terrapin Crossroads, 142 Throckmorton, multiple Hopmonk taverns, The Sleeping Lady, Fairfax Festival, Mystic Theater, Healdsburg Plaza, Freight & Salvage, Great American Music Hall, Slim’s, and more in Marin, Sonoma, Alameda, and San Francisco counties with his band The Hell Yeahs, performing on stages with well-known musicians like Carlos Santana, Robert Plant, Taj Mahal, JJ Cale, Billy Bob Thornton, Elvin Bishop, Angela Strehli, Shana Morrison and so many others.

MEDIA QUOTE(S): “I’ve had a guitar in my hands for as long as I can remember. Music has been in my life pretty much every second of every day. My brother taught me some chords at age 6; at age 12 I got serious (the first tune I leaned was Wildwood Flower, which my mom taught me), and by age 15 I was in a band, on stage, and earning actual money. The guitar is easy to play but takes a lifetime to master. It’s easily the most universal instrument because it’s at home in any style or genre of any music ever written. Guitar builders are everywhere but I feel it takes a lifetime of actually playing guitars to really understand what it takes to make the perfect performance guitar for professional players. That’s why I’m so proud to introduce DC Guitars at this free, public, all-ages launch concert in Marin County on Sunday, October 15.”
