The newest tenant in the San Francisco marketplace brings with it a lofty goal – to inspire its customers to incorporate juicing into their everyday lives. Developed by three friends whose own lives had been profoundly impacted by the health benefits of juicing, the Pressed Juicery is on a mission to redefine health – and make it grab-and-go.

Offering a variety of bottled juices and cleanse programs, Pressed Juicery starts with the premise that today’s hectic schedules do not always promote a healthy lifestyle, so they pack five pounds of produce into every cold-pressed bottle.

But does all of that focus on good-for-you food mean a product that is hard to get down?

“We are people who love food,” shared co-founder Carly Brien, “so our top priority is the quality of our product and how it tastes.”

Options include strawberry apple lime, grapefruit mint and blueberry coconut pear, among others, all of which can be mixed and matched if you decide to go the cleanse route. But the owners of Pressed Juicery hope their customers start with just drinking more juice.

“We want to make it convenient, an easy addition to their everyday lives,” said co-founder Hayden Slater. “We want to encourage people to do what they can, whether it’s a juice a day or a week, to realize the health benefits of juicing.”

Their Ferry Building location (across from Sur La Table) joins an already bustling Noe Valley venue that opened at the beginning of the year. The Marin Country Mart location looks to open by the end of March, joining Urban Remedy and the Bay Club as juice companies servicing Marin.

The Ferry Building Pressed Juicery is open daily 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM. Juice kits consist of six 16 fl.oz. bottles for $110, with single bottles ranging from $6.50 for the juices to $8 for their signature beverages (such as coconut mint chip or chocolate almond). Full cleanses include eight 16 fl.oz. bottles and come in three or five day kits at $70 per day.
