City Carpets is owned by Marin native Leigh Bakhtiari (a Certified Flooring Tech) and her husband, Hossein. Bakhtiari lives in her hometown of Mill Valley, where she and Hossein raised their five kids.
Bakhtiari is a force in her community, serving as the vice chair of sustainability for the San Rafael Chamber. She also sits on the Green Business Committee, The East San Rafael Working Group and The Council of Chambers DEI Task Force.
Her multifaceted advocacy continues through her role as regional network group coordinator for Carpet One. More than just a flooring covering retailer, Carpet One supports the nonprofit Tunnel To Towers Foundation, serving as the exclusive flooring supplier for its Smart Homes program for “catastrophically injured veterans and first responders.”
Additional members of the City Carpets sales and design team all live in Marin and have been with the company for over 20 years, enabling them to understand and anticipate the issues that are unique to our area.
