Adobe Road Winery

Following the legendary success of his professional race team The Racers Group (TRG), Kevin and his wife Debra opened Adobe Road Winery in the heart of Sonoma County in 2002. Their goal: to craft wines that exemplify the true essence of California’s most revered winegrowing regions. “We work hard to make sure each bottle of Adobe Road wine showcases the best attributes of each individual vineyard, within each appellation we source from,” says Kevin. “We choose the best parts of Sonoma and Napa Valley for our elite Cabernet Sauvignons, Dry Creek for our hedonistically rich Syrahs and Zinfandels, the Russian River as well as the Petaluma Gap for our ethereal Pinot Noirs and lavishly flavored yet sleek Chardonnays.” With OVER 35 wines that have received 90+ point ratings from the major wine publications, Adobe Road continues to push the pedal to the metal!

As an innovator in the racing and wine worlds, Kevin has found much success in being an industry disruptor on the cutting edge.  With Covid-19 impacting every person, business, and community across the world, it should be no surprise that Kevin and Debra Buckler were thinking ahead and finding innovative ways to enable their wine club members, guests, and new fans to enjoy world class wine tasting experiences during shelter-in-place. Kevin and his team held over a dozen Virtual Wine Tastings for hundreds of wine lovers – often with celebrity guests from the racing and wine industries. This included barrel sample tastings, vineyard designate tastings, and even an intimate Zoom session with legendary Napa grape grower, Andy Beckstoffer.

So when Sonoma County began discussing the re-opening of businesses in late May, it should be no surprise that Kevin started thinking outside the box again and put together a plan to move his small downtown tasting room (300 sq ft)  to a 37,000 sq ft outdoor “pop-up tasting room, entertainment center and beautiful tent complex” to maximize social distancing in the great outdoors. The site is the future home of the Adobe Road Winery and Entertainment Complex, but for now it has become the go-to place in Sonoma and Marin counties for wine, food, and entertainment. “The response from our guests and local communities has been awesome! We’re offering a safe and fun experience for wine lovers and we’re right on the water in Petaluma. Over the coming weeks we’ll be rolling out live music, fire pits, a VIP section, a tented banquet area, more food options, and night-time entertainment that people are going to love,” says Kevin.

It should be noted that the Adobe Road outdoor tasting room is on the corner of First and C streets in downtown Petaluma, and they have implemented a number of policies to ensure the safety of their staff and guests. Face coverings must be worn by all employees, and guests are requested to wear face coverings until seated. Tasting space and tables have been arranged to maximize social distancing and reservations are recommended.
