Good Shepherd Lutheran School Is Back to School

We were eagerly awaiting Aug. 20 when our students returned to school for two-day orientation in small groups. Our teachers were excited to be back in the classroom and our students were happy to see their classmates.

GSLS created a distance-learning environment that is as close to being in the classroom as we could build. Our curriculum stays the same and our students are receiving the best possible education. From online learning to one-on-one check-ins with the teachers throughout the day, our students feel supported and empowered to complete their work independently. We have tailored our program to each grade to make it user friendly for both students and parents. We know our families work full time and also have their own meetings, so we’ve given our students the tools they need to help mimic an “in-person classroom” environment.

GSLS First Day of School.

We look forward to the day when we can all go back to in-person classrooms full time. We have implemented policies and procedures to keep our students as safe and healthy as possible. These include wash stations throughout the campus, temperature checks in the morning, ventilated classrooms with air filters, and an abundance of space for our students to feel comfortable. All teachers have face masks and shields ready. Our classrooms are outfitted with touchless hand sanitizers and each room is cleaned daily.

We can’t wait to have our students return full time soon. Until then, we will continue to support our students and community online, one family at a time.
