Now that it's officially summer, it's time to prep your wardrobe for all of the white parties you will inevitably be invited to. Worried about wearing just boring, all-over white? Think lace, embroidery, eyelet, and other textures to break up the look. Also, this is a perfect opportunity to use your accessories to add a pop of color –– an orange enamel statement necklace, an emerald hued clutch with matching earrings, a bright printed espadrille. Or think like a Grecian goddess and stick to neutral and gold accessories (you can't go wrong with metallic gladiator sandals). Men –– you can add in your pop of color in a tie, belt, shoes, or even a hat. Here are ideas for some basic pieces to get you started.
Women:
White jeans or linen pants
White dress
White skirt
White linen or oxford shirt
White blouse or lightweight sweater
White shorts
White sun hat
Men:
White jeans or linen pants
Light colored chino/khaki pants
White or light colored chino/khaki shorts
White polo shirt or oxford shirt
White linen shirt
White lightweight sweater
Light colored or white cotton/linen blazer
White or light colored straw hat
Note to men: When putting together your look, keep in mind the weight of the fabrics. If you are wearing linen pants, the shirt should also be a lighter weight. A heavy cotton coat will look odd paired with a lightweight pant, and vice versa.
