Pool Party Roundup

I don’t have a pool. I do have pool envy, especially when it comes to throwing parties. Luckily, there are a few enticing wine country pool parties that are open to the hoi polloi, of which I am a gold card member. And to be clear, I’m not talking about the St. Helena community pool. These splashy soirees are at some of the best wine country venues.

This Friday, July 24, Auberge du Soleil (pictured above) is planning it’s first of what is planned to be an annual event. This hilltop property’s picturesque pool – that is typically reserved only for hotel guests – will be open to party guests. Chef Robert Curry will be Q’ing up locally sourced treats served with his selection of local rose wines, tequila and micro brews. Party starts at 6 and goes to 8 p.m., $75 each. aubergedusoleil.com

Also, this week and every week this summer, Sonoma Mission Inn’s Splash Pool Party series will be happening every Thursday from 7:30–10:30 p.m. Celebrate the summer and warm summer nights poolside with a DJ, signature drink specials and more. The pool is also available with a day pass to the spa, for $89, and cabanas are available for $150. fairmont.com/sonoma/

This month’s will be “sun-soaked in Veuve Clicquot’s golden orange accessories,” and they will also be serving tastings of Twomey Cellars’ latest releases, 2014 Estate Sauvignon Blanc and 2013 Russian River Pinot Noir. The August 27th event, features “Ceja Vineyards with their summer whites, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and the “Bella Flor” Rosé.
