Halloween at Disneyland Resort — Oogie Boogie Bash Returns, Plus Parade, Fireworks and More

We’re coming to you with some Halloween breaking boos (get it?)! The Disneyland Resort has announced plans for a hauntingly happy Halloween season from Sept. 2 through Oct. 31, 2022. From the return of the popular Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure Park to a nighttime show at Disneyland Park and plenty of seasonal overlays, it’s going to be a ghoulishly good time at the Anaheim parks this fall. Here’s what’s happening this Halloween at Disneyland.

Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park Are Transformed for Halloween

Both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure will be decked out for the scary season with the help of plenty of pumpkins and land and ride overlays. At Disney California Adventure, Cars Land will get its Haul-O-Ween makeover with Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree transformed into Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Rolickin’ Roadsters turned into Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween. Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout! becomes Guardians of the Galaxy — Monsters After Dark.

Over at Disneyland Park, Haunted Mansion gets the “Nightmare Before Christmas” treatment, becoming Haunted Mansion Holiday, an elaborate overlay that typically spans both Halloween and the holiday seasons and is a can’t-miss for fans of Jack Skellington, Sally, Zero and the rest of the gang.

Every night from Sept. 2–Oct. 31 at Disneyland Park, “Halloween Screams,” a supernatural projection and special effects show, will be visible from Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, and near “It’s a Small World.” On weekend nights the show will also include fireworks.

Oogie Boogie Bash — A Disney Halloween Party Returns

Everyone’s favorite dice-rolling villain from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” is back as the fiendish host of his namesake fete. Oogie Boogie Bash — A Disney Halloween Party is coming to Disney California Adventure for 24 nights in September and October. The parties are from 6-11pm and require a separate ticket from regular theme park admission. Party guests can enter the park as early as 3pm, nabbing you a whopping eight hours of park time.

Guests are invited to dress up in costume and discover all the scary surprises throughout the park. Trick or treat along immersive treat trails, spot characters sweet (Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald Duck) and scary (plenty of Disney villains). Catch the “Frightfully Fun Parade,” led by the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow followed by a cavalcade of characters and villains. Guests can also explore Villains Grove, where Redwood Creek Challenge Trail has been transformed with special lighting, projections and effects to create an enchanting and mysterious space and spot favorite characters during the “Mickey’s Trick & Treat” show.

New this year, members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, will have the opportunity to attend a special member-exclusive Oogie Boogie Bash on Sept. 10. The evening coincides with the weekend-long D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, which will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center Sept. 9-11.
