Choices. Choices. Choices. Our busy lives consist of an endless series of them: Where to live? Where to eat? Where to shop? And how to get it all done when time seems so short? Fortunately, Marin County provides a bounteous range of answers to those questions. Everyone have his or her favorite Marin place—that little hidden restaurant, that out-of-the-way bookstore, that perfect place to stay healthy. We’re no different—and we’ve put them together in this issue as our Second Annual Editors’ Choice Awards.

This year we’ve arranged our choices by community—from Sausalito to West Marin (north and south) to Novato—and offered you 11 dawn-to-dusk guides on how spend a perfect day in each of those unique communities, from morning caffeine to evening cabernet, with plenty of opportunities in between to explore, relax, and browse. Our choices celebrate the cultural and economic diversity of Marin—from bowling at the classic Country Club Bowl in San Rafael to dining amid the understated elegance of Marché aux Fleurs in Ross to indulging the shoe-diva within at Mara in Novato. Take a break from making all those choices, and follow ours. We hope you enjoy our perfect days as much as we did compiling them.

This issue also contains our roster of regular features. In Journey, photographer Barbara Ries takes us to Bora Bora, and GO explores the California coast; in Real Estate Update, Ian Charles interprets the local housing market data; Life Style questions Larkspur restaurateur Gary Rulli; Dialogue engages College of Marin President Frances White; Fashion Trends looks at the latest in summer swimsuits; FYI Community focuses on the founders of the new Sausalito Film Festival; and Microclimate profiles Novato.

As always, our wish is for your good reading. Enjoy Marin Magazine, as we continue to celebrate this extraordinary place!
