With over 300 people in attendance, Marin Art and Garden Center saw its most successful turnout to date at their annual Edible Garden culinary fundraiser on September 14. This year’s event also celebrated Marin Art and Garden Center’s 80th anniversary.
Edible Garden was hosted on their own grounds in Ross, where visitors were able to explore the property with a glass of wine or spirits and bites provided by local restaurants. Guests also had the opportunity to participate in an art walk hosted by artists from Ross-based Cedars. At dusk, they settled at tables under bistro lights for dinner with music from rock band Walking Mirrors and a live auction. Further entertainment was provided by a Jazz Quartet from Archie Williams High School, harpist Ricky Rasura and Jennifer Murphy on piano and bass.
Food and drink providers represented many cuisines, and included: Amélie; The Baan Thai Cuisine; Babaloo Bakes; Bartholomew Estate Winery; Burmatown; California Rose Catering & Events; Carrie Dove Catering & Events; Casablanca Moroccan & Mediterranean Food; CaterMarin; The Caviar Co.; Classic Culinaire; Comforts; Creekside Pizza & Taproom; Il Davide; Debbie Ghiringhelli Catering; Dee’s Organic Catering; Flour Craft Bakery & Cafe; A Fork Full of Earth; Fork & Spoon Productions; Free Spirits; Hoopes Vineyard; Insalata’s; Kitchen; Kuro Nami; Midsummer Kitchen; Pond Farm Brewing Co.; Park Avenue Catering; Reeve Wines; Rise Up! 94965 Foundation; Sage Catering Co.; Sausalito Liquor Co.; Seaguth Elixirs; Sean Minor Wines; Squared Pizza; and Tony Tutto Pizza.

The Town of Ross’s Teri Dowling also presented a Proclamation celebrating the anniversary and the organization’s contributions to the community.
This year’s live auction collected funds to support the Center’s ‘Sowing the Seeds’ Capital Campaign, and was hosted by Former Marin history teacher Chad Carvey as the auction’s “Principal Auctioneer.” Marin Art and Garden Center Executive Director Iris Lax shared the campaign’s goals of rehabilitating the property’s historic buildings and infrastructure.
“It’s remarkable what we can accomplish when we come together as a community for a worthy cause,” said Perry. “We are forever grateful to our sponsors, donors and visitors for their ongoing support of Marin Art and Garden Center and its mission. With the community’s support, we are able to continue to keep the Center open and free to the public, enrich our educational workshops and support our Garden School.”
Other notable guests included President Emeritus Diane Doodha; President of RPOA (Ross Property Owners Association) Jeff Koblick and his wife Phyllis; world-renowned landscape designer Christian Douglas; and Michael and Dudley DelBalso.
Marin Art and Garden Center would like to thank their sponsors: Bank of Marin; Caldwell Snyder; The Larkspur Chamber; Marin Hair Transplant; Skall & Glassman; and Walking Mirrors Music. They also thank their media sponsors: Marin Arts, Marin Magazine, PacificSun and The Spoonlist.
